I have been searching for DIY face serum recipe for some time and was not finding anything that was "just right" for me so I decided to do some research and combined few recipes and came up with this.

You can of course use any mix of oils and EO to suit your skin type and needs.

  • mix all the ingredients and store in glass bottle with a pump or dropper
  • apply as required - morning and before bed
  • remember - less is more and 4-5 drops are sufficient enough to moisturise your whole face

why did I choose these oils?

rosehip seed oil  from the seeds of a wild rose bush in Chile. This is a great carrier oil option for aging skin because it contains the Vitamins C and A. It is also high in essential fatty acids including linoliec, linolenic, and oleic acid and absorbs easily into the skin. Great for rejuvenating and evening out your skin tone.

jojoba oil The proteins and minerals in this oil mimic collagen and is closest to our natural skin oil. Anti-inflammatory effects have been shown . An interesting fact about jojoba is that it is actually a liquid plant wax as opposed to an oil, and it will get cloudy and solidify as the temperature drops. Jojoba oil is great for all skin types — especially acne prone skin since jojoba actually breaks down excess sebum.

apricot kernel oil nourishing oil is similar to avocado oil and it very rich in vitamin A and vitamin EApricot kernel oil penetrates the skin without leaving an oily residue. It is particularly suitable for sensitive and prematurely aged skin.

lavender EO Used to treat various skin disorders such as acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions, and is commonly used to speed up the healing process of wounds, cuts, burns, and sunburns. It also helps regenerate skin cells and lighten the appearance of age spots and scars.

carrot seed EO - is known as a skin detoxing oil wonderful for rejuvenating the skin and softening wrinkles. Although most popular in anti-ageing products, it also helps heal eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and other skin rasher and irritations. It blends extremely well with geranium EO.

frakinscence EO - Promotes regeneration of healthy cells and also keeps the existing cells and tissues healthy. Powerful astringent capabilities help tone and tighten skin all over your body.

myrrh EO Myrrh is a very powerful essential oil from ancient times. The Arabian people used myrrh for many skin conditions, such as chapped skin and wrinkles. It is full of antioxidants, making it protective against ageing skin.

geranium EO Helps regulate oil production, reducing acne breakouts. Improves skin elasticity and tightens skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Promotes blood circulation, helping to heal bruises, broken capillaries, and other skin conditions.
